So I haven't seemed to appreciate Christmas the last few years. I know a lutheran who doesn't appreciate Christmas....let me explain. I don't like the commercialness stressful part of any holiday. Whyyyyyy do people put themselves through all the stress for something that last like 2 hours. So the good points of the holiday. Christmas eve the family gathered around a baby swaddled in Paton Manning jersey. Appropriate. Christmas eve continued with a lovely candle lit service which I tried not to cry out my candle. Luke singing Silent Night got to me. Sleeping on my parent's couch was interesting. Lucy came down stairs and tried to get her treats out of her stocking a couple times. I was exhausted and at one point my dad snuck down stairs to put a suprise present in my mom's Christmas stocking. A man with a white beard appeared with a present. Faith in Santa restored! Christmas morning was good we called Jake for being late, yes, 4 minutes is still late. Hollie is a BAMF. She wrapped Whitney's gift card in a lot of yarn then more yarn then wrapping paper. Whitney was pissed but it was hilarious to the rest of us. Hollie out did herself beating the wrapping paper gift card extraveganze 2009. All said and done it was nice to hang out with the family.

poof of glitter...shut up!
Time to catch up. My dad got a new kidney. So far it is working good. Kari -bestest sister in law ever- stepped up and donated. She definatly has bumped the rest of us off the will. But she is doing good as well. I did good most the day of surgey and didn't cry until about 6 that night. Max-7 year old cousin- asked me if I saw the kidney and answered"whew" when I said no. I love little kids.
I had lunch with Julie over the weekend and we were on a mission to find a bright red bra. Still searching. But we did find a bottle of glitter that poofs the glitter at you. That is up there with shimmery coconut lotion. Julie is in love.
As Thanksgiving approaches I am making a cheesecake for dessert. I threatened to put salmon flavored cream cheese into the cake. Mom has been gagging at the thought since. I started another threat that I will puke in her shoe. Mom also doesn't appreciate that threat either. She has even try to ground me. hahahhahahaha. I love my mom.
The news has been obsessed with the pending blizzard that is supposed to hit Utah. I don't appreciate cold, snow, and blizzards. Hopefully there won't be too much damage.

Thats how I roll
I joined a bowling league. I feel so old. I bowl, crochet, and make homemade soup. What have I become? I joined bowling cause a friend at work knew a group of 3 guys that were going to get kicked off the league cause the girl quit. I am the token chick on the team. Aubrey is the canadian guy, I end sentences with A to make him feel at home, A. I usually yell "Scottie don't" at Scott cause its fun to quote Austin Power's Dr evil. The team calls Scott, Scottie cause of me. Then there is Elmo. How do I go about describing Elmo. When I was first told that I was joining a bowling team with 3 dudes and 1 guy was named Elmo I didn't know what to do. I thought who really names their kid Elmo or what has this guy done to be nicknamed Elmo. Elmo is this tall big dude who can talk and laugh in an Elmo voice. These guys are great and I am glad to spend my tuesdays with them. I have become a bowling geek in just a short amount of time. I now have my own ball, shoes, bag, towel, and ball cleaner. My ball even smells of ginger. I hope to improve my average and lower my handicap. My language has gotten considerably worse since starting. I have fun names for the 10, 7, and 5 pin, usually involving a four letter word when they are left standing. Amen

Oktoberfest
Oktoberfest was good times. I have been helping plan it and run it for the last few months. It seemed to go pretty well. I met some new people and hung out with friends and family. I heard jokes from people I didn't expect. I ran around and ID checked and people were thrown off that I actually looked at the year they were born. Lutherans can be hard core when it comes to liquor. I had some heart to heart conversations. Who knew running around for two days setting up a party for hundreds of people with little rest, no sunscreen, no food, and beer would actually be a good time. But it was a great time and I would do it again in a heartbeat. Amen

love thy accoutant
Today at work my section got to get out of the office for the day. We went to Jordanelle to see the dive team do a demonstration. The dive team is a bunch of funny guys and it and it was great to see what they do to bring closure to families. Going out on the boat was cool and to see all the sonar tools. So getting off the boat was a tricking thing. One don't wear flip flops two don't be short. So getting off the boat and slipped and landed in the water. In front of everyone. Is there a section on workers comp for a bruised ego. I did get a cheer from all the people in the pavillion. Nothing like falling in front of coworkers, boss, director, and cops. hml. But it was still a good day. I don't like the provo canyon route to jordanelle. Just sayin'. I did get a sunburn too cause sunscreen needs to be reapplied and even more so after a "swim". bahh. Then getting home after a great day of work I got a potential juror notice. I am getting better at not taking myself so seriously in my old age and am learning to laugh more. Amen.

Don't think it's yours just cause you marked it with your urine
Julie and I had a rousing game of "your team" before going to the Jack Johnson concert. It started with yellow skinny jeans on a guy. I kicked major arss at that game. The concert was a gooder. I didn't know G Love was opening which made the night even better. On Saturday I hibernated. I needed to do a test to donate a kidney to my dad. The test was to collect urine for 24 hours. There are a hand full of people I would donate a saturday to and use that saturday to pee in a jug for the purpose to help improve their life. My dad is definately one of them. I made the task of how much pee do I really generate in one day. I filled the jug and had some pee to spare. I now can say that I pee over 3000 mL a day. Not many can or want to say they know that. Amen

candy cannon of good times
I went to the 311 / Offspring concert. It was a magical cracked out evening of fun with Julie. Started at Olive Garden with interesting conversations. The family next to us asked like 3 times what I was eating. Who knew cheese ravioli was such an interesting dish. Part of the converstation was the upcoming family reunion. I proceded to ask Julie " Is your dad doing the candy cannon?" I got a "probably not." I considered boycottying and getting a whole new family. Candy raining from the heavens of Centerville is a joyious event loved by many. As the concert came we had to drive to Usana. I still don't get the traffic and why it all of a sudden got better after Bangeter highway. Nothing like a beer and air guitar and a game of "your team" to make a concert complete. So on to the family reunion. As long as I can remember the reunion is on the 24th of July. I don't know what that makes me giggle but it does. It seems so Utahn. The reunion is great to see aunts, uncles, and cousins. Some I saw just a few weeks ago the others I only get to see once a year. There are about 5 coolers of beer. Its goooooood times. Gail finally brought out the candy cannon. Okay Gail is one of those guys who can actually build stuff. He made a little pipe thing, not a pipe bomb, and it shoots candy into the sky. I don't know how it works or why it works. I love candy flying at high volocities. Amen
